What's in it

Released together, not drip-fed.

Comments

Threaded discussions anchored to the text.

  • Replies, resolve and reopen
  • Consecutive comments grouped per author
  • Survives undo and works alongside collaboration

Version history

Named checkpoints alongside automatic saves.

  • Author-attributed diff between any two versions
  • Preview a version before you act on it
  • Restore writes a backup first, so history is never rewritten

AI assistant

Bring your own endpoint. No vendor lock-in.

  • Improve, shorten, translate, change tone, continue writing
  • Suggestions stream in and are reviewed before they touch the document
  • Accept or discard, nothing is written until you say so

Real-time collaboration

Multiple people in one document, live.

  • Yjs-based sync, bring your own backend
  • Live carets and presence
  • Collaborative undo that only undoes your own edits

Columns

Notion-style multi-column layouts.

  • Create from the slash menu or by dragging a block
  • Resizable columns with a minimum width
  • Self-healing when a column empties out

Export

Word and PDF, entirely in the browser.

  • .docx with real threaded comments, not flattened text
  • PDF with merged table cells intact
  • No export server, nothing leaves the client

What stays free

Everything that is open source today stays open source and free. The editor core, the Angular, React, Vue and Vanilla components, the Notion-style block controls, tables, images, emoji, mentions, math and the theme are all MIT licensed and are staying that way.

Pro ships as separate add-on packages on top. Nothing that is free today is moving behind a paywall. Start with the open-source packages and add Pro later if you need it.

Status

Every extension listed above is built and running. What is left is the final round of polish, documentation and packaging before release. There is no public date yet, and pricing has not been announced. Detailed posts on how each of these works will follow at launch.
